1. Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and Joe Jarlett, sole-trader (United Kingdom), operating Meta-Me at meta-me.uk. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Meta-Me is a platform of personal-tools (Knowledge Base, CRM, Personal Finances, Analytics, Keel, GroundedNinja, and any future apps we add). Each app runs on its own subdomain. The hub at meta-me.uk handles authentication, billing, theming, and cross-app coordination.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. We use Google OAuth for sign-in; protecting your Google account is your responsibility.
- You are responsible for the data you put into the apps. Do not upload content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or that you do not have the right to upload.
- One account per person. Sharing accounts is not permitted.
4. Trial
New accounts include a 30-day free trial of every gated feature. The trial starts the first time you sign in and ends 30 days later. No payment details are required to start the trial. Trials are one-shot: accounts that have already had a trial do not receive a new one if they later subscribe and cancel.
5. Subscription and billing
- The subscription is £8 per month, billed monthly in advance.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on each billing cycle.
- Prices are in GBP and exclude any applicable VAT. We may add VAT charging if and when we are legally required to.
- Your subscription continues until you cancel.
6. Cancellation and refunds
- You can cancel any time via the Stripe Customer Portal, linked from
meta-me.uk/billing. - Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep access until then.
- We do not refund partial months. The amount you paid covers the period you paid for, regardless of how much you used.
- If we make a material adverse change to the service, we will give you reasonable notice and offer a pro-rata refund for any remaining paid time.
7. What happens after cancellation or trial expiry
- Gated features stop working.
- Your account remains and your data is preserved. You can continue to use any non-gated functionality and can resubscribe at any time to restore full access.
- If you also delete your account, your data is removed within 30 days (per the Privacy Policy).
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything illegal, harmful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Attempt to break, abuse, or reverse-engineer the service, or to bypass billing or feature gates.
- Use AI features to generate harmful content, prompt-injection payloads against other systems, or content that violates our AI providers' usage policies (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude).
- Use the service to send spam, scrape data at scale, or generate excessive load on our infrastructure.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules. Where possible we will give notice and a chance to fix the problem first.
9. Your data
You own the content you put into Meta-Me. We do not claim any ownership of your data. We only process it as needed to operate the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
You can export your data at any time, and you can request deletion at any time. See the Privacy Policy for the mechanism.
10. Service availability
Meta-Me is operated as a small, independent service. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee any specific uptime. The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind beyond those required by law.
We may perform maintenance, deploy updates, and take the service offline temporarily. Where a planned outage will be significant, we will give notice in advance.
11. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms or any law.
13. Changes to the service or these terms
We may modify the service and these terms over time. For material changes to the terms, we will give you reasonable notice (typically by email) before they take effect. Continued use of the service after a change indicates acceptance.
14. Termination
You can stop using the service and close your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms; where possible we will give notice and a chance to remedy the breach. On termination by us, we will refund any unused prepaid time on a pro-rata basis unless the termination is for breach.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be heard exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
